Home Selection, Cost and Ownership

  • The selection of a home is based on its proximity to the adoptive parents’ employer and the family’s relatives.
  • The cost to purchase adequate housing in the Ukraine is approximately $25,000 per home depending on the geographic location.
  • Legal ownership of a home is equally shared by all members of the family; father, mother, both biological and adopted children.
  • When parents are deceased, all children are the beneficiaries.
  • Taxes and utilities on homes are an insignificant amount and are not a burden to the families.

HopeHouse functions anonymously in the Ukraine to ensure all prospective adoptive parents have the purest motives.

Once sufficient housing has been established for the orphaned children and their new families, ongoing support will not be required.
