Day one and two gatherings of precious children. While we thought that today might be a good Dress Rehearsal, both orphanages turned out to be a test of our ability to adapt. If nothing else we know our Teamwork is in place!
A few showers may have driven us inside, but what rained down was God’s message to the young souls we saw today. The message of the Song we sang in their language:
He knows my Name,
He knows my every thought.
He sees each tear that falls
And he hears me when I call.
Won’t you sing that Chorus with us this Week?

Paige, I received a call on my cell phone from Uncle Jesse. Of course I didn’t know I had a call until Monday afternoon….anyway, He called to say how proud he is of you and your willingness to seek God’s will for your life through missions. He’ll be praying for everyone in the Bascharow clan this week! Julia missed you within the first 2 hours after you left! She’s playing with the Polly’s, but nothing beats playing with Paigey! Love, mom

Dear Pastor Gene and Paige,
Sounds like things are going great in Ukraine. We will all be praying for a very successful missions trip. Take lots of pictures so you can share those precious moments with all of us. Sure is nice to have a way of sending you our thoughts and prayers. It rained a lot here in Maryland also. So I guess your tomato plants will be growing like weeds. Everyone in church will keep you two in prayers.

Kathryn & Steven: We are all doing fine, but miss you both very much. I hope Steven is keeping a journal or making note of all the sights and experiences – I am looking forward to hearing his stories. Sarah, Scott, and Grampa went fishing today – he leaves tomorrow. Hurry home. I love you. Art

Gene and Paige: Sounds like everything is going well on the trip so far! Have fun loving on those kids this week, I sure do wish I was there to help! I am in prayer this week for you two and for the entire team that you will deliver a message of real hope to the orphans. I remember looking in the childrens eyes and seeing the emptyness and lack of hope. Christ is the message of real hope and I know everyone will see Him in your eyes! Gene – stay away from the rear flag pole no matter how temting it is! Yo Ho, Yo Ho a pirates life for me!!
