Dude Where's My Shoe

Posted on April 30, 2008

Another day of tremendous progress on the house for Max and his family!  If Chad W and Brian can keep up with Sergei and Max’s standards, they may finish the dry wall tomorrow.  Rex and Chad B are rockin’ to get the ceilings framed and the drywall in place.  Lisa, David and Mark finished one complete wall today and hope to finish the other two before they leave.  Ira, as usual, has been such a gracious hostess.  The family dog however, has issues with some in our group.  Chad B and Mark had to be rescued by Lisa as the dog had the front door guarded (with teeth beared and growling) and wouldn’t let them in for lunch!  She LOVED Brian’s shoes so much that during the meal, she decided to keep one for herself – she nearly had it buried in the back yard before he realized it was missing.  Hench the quote of the day – “Dude, the dog tried to bury my shoe!”  As always, thanks for the prayers and your comments.  We all look forward to seeing them when they are posted.

Great to hear about the progress. And it sounds like you all are having lots of fun, too. Thank you for all you are doing to help this family move in to their new house.
Brian, thank you for recruiting this wonderful team of hard workers with big heats. Please thank each of them for me. Rex, thank you as always for ALL that you do for HH. Please give big hugs to Yuri and Ira and Sergei for me.

You are all in our prayers!

It was great to hear that you all got to spend time to play with the kids. That was one thing that I wished our group would have gotten to do. Brian, what is the name of your great group? Please tell Yuri, Ira, Sergi, Max and his family hello for me. Hearing about your build brings back the wonderful memories of our trip. Stay safe and thank you for you witness and ministry.

Hi honey. Sounds like you all are moving right along. We just got back from your dad’s birthday dinner and you were missed by all. The boys loved eating your part of the cake though! We are all fine here and are glad that we are able to share you once again with another HH family. Much love and many prayers coming your way.

I think I have it. The dog is trained to keep the team out of the house away from the “sour cream and dumplings”.
Really sounds as if you’re having too much fun. Although I’m impressed with all the wiring, walls, ceiling, etc. Glad to see such great progress. The blogs are uplifting and the detail makes it seem as if we’re right there with you. Lifted up the team during prayer meeting at church tonight.
Have fun, stay safe, and watch God work…through you.

    In Christ,

We forgot to warn you about Era’s Dog, it ate one of our team members. Give our blessings to Yuri, Era, Sergei & Max.

    Rex and Team,

I sure wish that I was there with you all. You are in my prayers everyday and wish you a safe trip home. I know that Max and his family was blessed once again from the time you have sacrificed. Say hello to Yuri, Sergi, and Ira for me.

Leave it to Lisa to make best friends with the dog. That’s my daughter!! She could have at least warned Chad to hide his shoes. We have told all of our friends and many relatives about their trip and they think it is so super. We are really looking forward to them coming home and seeing the pics. Safe trip and God Bless.
