April 28th – First Day of Work

Posted on April 28, 2008

Wow…how wonderful to see all of the progress that was made today.  Walls getting completed, ceilings were started and no one lost any appendages!  We were able to communicate with hand signals – english is not an easy language to interpret. Chad B and Rex were serious worker bee’s knocking out the frame work for most of the ceilings.  Mark, Lisa, David, Chad W and Brian had some trying times getting all of the walls straight but I think the end, Max and family will be able to hang pictures without worrying about the wall falling over.  Progess was also made on getting dry wall on two walls, on some of the ceilings and as our crew departed, Max and Surgi were going to install some of the electrical wiring.  Many many thanks to our hostess for lunch and dinner – Ieria (not how it’s spelled I’m sure) and her family.  Gracious and patient are the words that come to mind when I think of her hosting our crew.  Thank you all for keeping us in your prayers and keeping up with our progress.  Tomorrow should bring another day of commradory and achievements.  We will keep you posted!

Hello all!! Just one of the Privates here from the *Band of Brothers*.

I just wanted to take a moment and let you know I am praying for you today. I pray that you will each be blessed knowing that God is working there with you! I pray for you physically that God gives you the strength to fulfill the goals set for the week, and overcome any *kinks* that may present themselves. May God bless each of you for your willing to serve with a *Servant Heart*.

Please let Yuri, Sergei, Maxime and his family know that they are always in my prayers. I also pray for your safe return home.

Oh, by the way, please be sure to let our *Fearless Leader* (Rex) know that in order to lead you have to be the 1st out of bed!

So glad to hear the walls are being raised – and that Rex the “early bird” is rising to catch his worm! HA!HA! I know you all know that God is reaching hearts faster than you can drywall and that those “kinks” are moments to pause and realize God is still in control (Psalm 46:1)! Know that we are praying for you and your success in building these four walls, which will be the true foundation of many more lives to come.

Hey all! Rex – Jay and I are here being rowdy, closing down Starbucks, and missing your advice on life. I brought my computer up here to be able to send you a note. Jay is excited because this is Starbucks’ internet access is through AT&T as of today. Sean is either late as usual or not showing up, so we’re going to give him a hard time either way. Hope all is well and that you’re not being overworked, but at the same time, you’re accomplishing great things!

HopeHouse International exists so that Orphans in Ukraine can become adopted by Christian couples within their country.
