Hello to All!

Posted on July 20, 2007

Sorry for the long delay.  We had a long trip
includung canceled flights , delayed flights, running
across aiports and a flat tire…we arrived at 1 a.m.
Wednesday morning.  We went to our sites on Wednesday and
began our work.  One group is doing finish work on a
Hope House along with the family, sanding and
painting…the other group is tying rebar and building
forms for corner columns and the ribbon beam at the
mission house.  The two sites are close together and
we all ride together and eat lunch together at a
wonderful Tartar cafe each day.
Yesterday we had our first day with the orphan kids we
are working with…awesome..your kids are
awesome…volleyball, basketball and soccer were the
games of choice.  We will join them today and
tommorrow, Monday and Tuesday.  They have put together
a “tournament” for us to participate in with them and
are very excited about it.  We have crafts and
activities for the little ones.  This camp is a place
for kids who have no place else to go,or nobody else
to go to during the summer when the orphanages close
for staff vacations and repair. These kids are from
all over, no one orphanage.  It is in the boonies…we
go up a valley into the mountains down a dirt road
that has been used since the Middle Ages.

This camp is remote to say the least…sweet
kids…estatic to have the attention and we are
estatic to be giving it to them.  I just can’t say
enough about this team…stout hearts, loving hearts,
never say never attitude….Awesome.

Tommorrow we’ll go to the beach for a while before
returning to our work sites and then to the orphan
camp.  The beach is about 300 yards from where we are
staying.  It is a narrow stone beach down a steep
trail.  No doubt, the blue-green waters of the Black
Sea have been a refreshing end to our long days.  We
get back “home” about 8 p.m. and walk to the beach for
a swim before dinner.  Sleep comes easy…

It is 4 h.m…time to go tho the orphan camp. I leave
you with our devo bible verse this a.m. More later…

James 1:27

    Hey Guys,

So great to hear from you all! Please know that you are talked about and prayed for often. We know that the time you spend with those kids will bring them memories that will last a lifetime and impact that will forever be imprinted on their hearts. Thank you for going and working to serve others in this way. We love hearing your reports so keep them coming so we can stay connected. We can’t wait to hear about it when you return. Our Mission

HopeHouse International exists so that Orphans in Ukraine can become adopted by Christian couples within their country. Adequate housing is a barrier for most citizens, and it is a government prerequisite for adoption. HopeHouse International enables adoptions by addressing adequate housing needs which result in three or more children being given a family and a future.
