Day 3 – Sevastopol

Posted on May 6, 2007

We made it to Sevastopol after our 15 hour train ride. Yuri picked us up and took us to eat Pizza. The we checked into our hotel whic is more like small villas. They are super nice and spacious. Yuri did good once again as if we had to worry anyway. He always takes care of us. We then ventured out on the Black Sea for a few hours and that was amazing. Everyone had a great time. After sailing we were hungry again so we ate Mcdonalds. Felt like we were back in USA. Tomorrow is our first work day so we are going to get some rest to prepare to begin the mission house. Everyone send there love and thanks to everyone for the comments and prayers. Goodnight!

Knew Doug & Rex would find their way to a Pizza joint somehow! We are thrilled to hear you are settled in Sevastopol and that you were able to enjoy Sunday on the Black Sea. What a beautiful way to start the week and be reminded of the beauty God gave us. Now it is time to pull out those work gloves and put them to good use!

Read a verse tonight that reminded me of the journey each of you took to be where you are right now…some 5000+ miles away from home…Isaiah 6:8 – Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Do not forget that he chose each of you to be where you are and made the way possible! It is amazing how doors are opened when He is at work in us.

The kids say Hi and to tell you that they love you and miss you (me too). Know that we (and many, many others) are praying for you constantly.

    Hey Doug:
So glad you were called to go on a mission trip. If there is one thing in common that I hear from all missionaries it is that you will bring back far more than you left behind. I believe that is because you can’t outgive God.

You have a great time and enjoy what it is that the Lord has planned for you. You will know at some point in the trip, “Ah, this is why I was called to go on this trip!” I’m excited for you.

I will keep you and your team in my prayers and am anxious to hear about it when you get back.

    May God Bless you immensely!

    Paul

Our Mission

HopeHouse International exists so that Orphans in Ukraine can become adopted by Christian couples within their country. Adequate housing is a barrier for most citizens, and it is a government prerequisite for adoption. HopeHouse International enables adoptions by addressing adequate housing needs which result in three or more children being given a family and a future.
