Sevastopil – Orphanges day 2 part 2
Posted on June 13, 2006
What affected us most today was the older kids (teenagers). They seem to be more distant, skeptical, and somewhat unemotional. They think we are here for the small chlidren. Our strategy has become to target the “leader” of the older group, and then the others seem to follow more readily. By the end of our time together they too have experienced the love, the joy and the hugs. The reality is that for most of these older kids the future holds little hope. Please pray for the older kids especially today.

Hey guys,
Thank you for your updates. It is hard to imagine life in an orphanage – especially when you have lost hope of becoming part of a family. I want to cry just thinking about it. My prayer is that God through Christ will soon turn their mourning into dancing and that they will some day soon grasp what it means to be in God’s family to a depth that is an inspiration to us and to others because of the experiences they have faced. That they will become ignited by God’s Word, that they will begin to study it in their small groups and find the TRUTH to be their chief source of light, love and encouragement in this cruel world they have known. God is quite capable of filling every gap in their lives and void in their hearts, and I pray He would do that for them in the name of Jesus. Amen.
I love you guys!
Christy

Hey guys,
It’s me again. Do you have Bible study materials should they opportunity arise and the Spirit lead to giving them to the older youth? Pastor Misha is in the US and could possibly help us find some Ukrainian materials we could ship to you ASAP. Please pray about it and let me know. With love,
Christy
